Meet Sonny, a 16hh, 5-year-old Thoroughbred who embodies the term “gentle giant.” Sonny is an absolute saint, has a calm demeanor, and eager-to-please attitude. This easy-peasy gelding has even safely carried a beginner walk-trot rider, showcasing his versatility and patience. Although, he is still green and needs a rider equipped to train.
Sonny has been started over fences and shows immense potential as an eventer or hunter/jumper. He is a quick learner with more woah than go and responds beautifully to gentle cues. He’s the type of horse that aims to do the right thing and is always eager to please. As a testament to his laid-back nature, my second ride on him was bareback, playing a game of catch with a kid on the ground.
Sonny’s puppy-dog personality makes him a standout in any barn. He’s the kind of horse that will fall asleep in the crossties and rest his head in your arms. He’s ready to be your next show ring partner or a lesson superstar, offering a straightforward and rewarding experience for riders of all levels.
